What Is Fair Use?
Fair use refers to reasonable, non-excessive use of PhoneServ services consistent with typical business communication. This means using the platform in a way that aligns with normal voice, messaging, and collaboration activity. The goal is to ensure that all customers can access our services without interruption or degradation in quality.
Acceptable Use
The following activities are considered normal, acceptable use of PhoneServ:
- Making and receiving calls at normal business volumes
- Sending and receiving business SMS messages
- Using the platform for legitimate internal and external communication
- Recording calls for compliance and quality purposes within your plan limits
Unacceptable Use
The following activities fall outside the bounds of fair use and are strictly prohibited:
- Using automated dialers, robocalling systems, or call blasting tools without prior written approval
- Generating unusually high call or message volumes in a short period of time
- Reselling, sharing, or sublicensing your PhoneServ account to unauthorized users
- Using the service for telemarketing in violation of CRTC regulations or the CASL (Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation)
- Engaging in any illegal, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, hack, or circumvent the platform’s security measures
Monitoring and Enforcement
To protect the integrity of our services, PhoneServ monitors usage patterns. If we detect activity that appears excessive or outside fair use norms, we will contact you to address the concern. Continued violations may result in usage throttling, suspension, or account termination. Our goal is to maintain a fair, high-quality experience for all customers — not to restrict legitimate use.
CRTC and CASL Compliance
All users of PhoneServ must comply with applicable Canadian telecommunications regulations, including CRTC rules on unsolicited communications and CASL requirements for commercial electronic messages. PhoneServ may cooperate with regulatory investigations or requests relating to suspected violations.
Policy Updates
PhoneServ reserves the right to update or modify this Fair Use Policy at any time. Any changes will be published on this page with the revised effective date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted implies acceptance of the revised policy.
